The Oil City Derby Girls are pleased to announce the Wild Rose Challenge vs Calgary's Hellion Rebellion which will be held September 18th at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
With a capacity of over 3000 we are taking roller derby to the next level. This game will also feature complimentary parking with advance ticket purchase. Get your tickets today! $20.00 General Admission and $30.00 VIP +18 Floor Seating.
At each game the Oil City Derby Girls donate a portion of the proceeds from all program sales to an Edmonton based charity

Saturday night's bout was rockin' with OCDG's Alice Capones win over the Red Deer Renegades 192-100. The half-time show was also rockin' as Edmonton Rockabilly band "The Benders" treated the fans to great tunes! Saturday night was the debut of OCDG's other house team the Alice Capones, and what a debut they had, beating the G.I. Janes in a nail biter 151-136! Rage City 134 - Oil City 130
Expectations were high as the Anchorage fans didn't want to see their Rage city girls go 2 and 0 against the visiting OCDG squad. The sold out crowd was treated to a back and forth nail-biter. With overtime looming, Rage City pulled out a 4 point victory on the last jam of the bout. Both teams look forward to a third round to this great rivalry. Special Thanks to Rage City for some great hospitality and to all their fine officials and volunteers.

Oil City's GI Janes lost to the Red Deer Belladonna's by a close game of 140-158 on Saturday night. The tense matchup was close, even tied during the middle of the second half, but the Belladonna's pulled through! A near capacity crowd witnessed a thrilling, bone rattling contest between Oil City and Rage City! The Anchorage, Alaska team kept things close, at one point in the second period only two points separated them. Ultimately, Rage City 's penalty troubles caught up with them and Oil City came out on top by a final score of 106-91.
A huge shout out goes out to OCDG's incredible volunteers, the Reffing Crew, What About Ivan and the RCRG!

There were 2 great games last night at the Oil City Grindhouse. Oil City played host to their first Men's Invitational. Male skaters from all over Canada and the US mixed it up with the final outcome of the Red Team victorius with a final of Black 122 - Red 164. The crowd was treated to some dazzling moves and some brutal hitting. Dixon Syder took a nasty fall in the first-half and broke his leg, speedy healing Dixon!
Then OCDG took to the track against Saskatoon's SRDL, Oil City took an early lead and never looked back, winning the game 156-54.

It was Revenge of the Derby Girls as OCDG defeated the Eves of Destruction by one point. Oil City wrapped up the season with an action-packed bout with a final score of 102-103!

Well, OCDG took the fight out of the Calgary B-52 Bella's "Operation Derby Dogfight" right from the opening whistle. OCDG kept up it's latest trend of scoring 100+ points, as they pummelled Calgary 165-68.

Richland Washington's Atomic City Roller Girls brought their hitting game to Inkfest big time! When the dust cleared, it was Oil City who matched Atomic city hit for hit in a penalty filled bout, and prevailed 149-94. The win now brings Oil City to .500 on the season. |
